Charlee is a woman traumatized by her past. Life has shown a side to relationships she doesn’t care to repeat. Anxiety and panic attacks sent her retreating from men. Focusing on her career and current Ph.D. tenure, she moved to finish her research and be closer to family. Her world takes an unexpected turn when a fire breaks out in her apartment building and the man rescuing her ignites a deep need for intimacy; until her overthinking mind runs amuck.

Alex a Captain at the local fire station, has sworn off relationships. His sisters’ and firehouse family consider him a demanding, morally principled, relationship-phobic who’s never fallen in love. They could be right given what he’s endured. That all changes when his world collides with a woman he can’t stop thinking about and it appears she couldn’t care less. Pursuing her attention fast falls apart, what else is there, but to walk away.
